Silent’Air : The noise-proof panel

Technical solution for noise reduction

Noise reduction is a key point to bring comfort on a boat, should it be sailing or motor.
Engines are often running, even at the anchor, to produce energy.
Design’Air comes with a brand new solution, taking into account the weight factor. This new patented system has first been developed for the aircraft industry, and particularly helicopters applications. It uses hollo-spheres in a honeycomb structure to produce panels that will dissipate vibration energy as well as reduce the transmitted noise.

This great solution is now made available for the marine industry.
Noise reduction has been measured and results are showing 5 to 8 dB gain in frequencies between 50 and 4000 Hz
The panels manufactured by Design’Air are weight reduction orientated and thanks to their experience in the aircraft industry where weight is a predominant factor, this equipment is amazingly light.
Design’air panels adapts to any type of structure (honeycomb, beam, partition…) and every boat configuration
The increase of volume is neglectible.
These panels will be cover finished on the customers’ request. Design’air proposes a wide catalogue of finishing (varnished wood, plain lacque...).
