The fantastic Ultrasonic Wind Sensors from LCJCapteurs will be demonstrated at London
Boat Show on Mantsbrite stand (B174).
Established in 1964 by Brian Ash, this distributor is a major supplier of electronic equipment into the marine market with an established dealer’s network throughout the UK and Ireland. They provide services to the leisure, fishing and commercial sectors of the market.
The range of Ultrasonic Wind Sensors from LCJ Capteurs addresses all those sectors with products variations adapted to each use requirement.

LCJ Capteurs sensors have
proved their build quality, reliability and accuracy in the harsh marine environment
and they are now widely used in other fields such as weather stations, industrial
applications, security and agriculture to name a few. Well known in France and
recognized since 1999 these “moving-parts-free”
sensors are now made available in the UK.
Mantsbrite’s Managing Director
David Ash believes ultrasonic wind sensors are an exciting addition to the
company’s range of products, saying:
“These are high quality instruments,
robust, compact, light and energy efficient, whilst being manufactured at
competitive prices. The reputation of
the manufacturer and the reliability of the instruments are known globally, and
we are proud to add LCJ Capteurs’ Ultrasonic
Wind Sensors to our existing range of equipment. I don’t think it will be
long before ultrasonic wind sensors are a standard fixture on vessels being
used in many sectors of the marine industry.”
2013 will
see a number of important additions to the product range after the introduction
of the CanBus interface in last
METS. This interface box makes the LCJ
Capteurs sensors compatible with NMEA 2000 instruments.
This device offers an embedded barometric sensor adding more information to the system through a barometer function page.
With the LCJ Capteurs CanBus users can now enjoy receiving data on their NMEA 2000® compatible instrument systems which can use the ultrasonic data in the process of many performance functions. This makes LCJ Capteurs sensors an essential component of a modern high performance navigation system.
The CanBus is available by adding a "Black-Box" interface with its own independent set-up commands: a clever system combines a rotary encoder with two settings buttons allowing setup to be achieved directly with no need to use a display.

The
next product to be launched is a Rotating
Mast kit which can be added to the CanBus.
This will allow using any instrument system of your choice to be fitted on a
sailboat with rotating mast. Simply plug your instrument system to the LCJ Capteurs CanBus interface connected to the mast head unit and a rotating
mast sensor: the wind direction is automatically corrected from the mast angle!
Note that
all the LCJ Capteurs Ultrasonic Wind Sensors
feature an NMEA0183 interface as a standard and can be ordered with the
relevant interface option for a direct integration to most of the systems
available on the market. LCJ Capteurs
can develop specific interfaces on request.
